Our first beer produced in the Reserve Series, Melange A` Trois begins with a wonderfully big Strong Belgian-Style Blonde Ale and moves into the extraordinary category through an additional 6 month French Oak Chardonnay Wine Barrel maturation. The essence of Chardonnay permeates while a subtle sweetness remains from the Ale itself. Oak tannins combine to create a fascinating mesh of dry, sweet, and wine-like character. One of our favorites!

This beer was created on November 23rd, 2006.
It is composed of four varieties of cereals, a variety of hop and ginger roots.

Always having fun and trying new things, Melancotte is the result of brewing a tart Apricot saison and then using a hefty dose of our salted watermelon Brett Gose to kick off fermentation. The gose brings with it loads of watermelon, our four different house Brett strains, and two saison strains that give the beer very citrus forward yeast esters with a nice background hay-like Brett funk. The aroma initially tells the story of the gose with notes of watermelon surrounding it, quickly transitioning into an apricot bomb with the first sip. The fruit flavors eventually marry along with the bright yeast and funk notes, giving way to adequate tartness and acidity to create a complex and juicy beast of a saison.
