Mother Cluster

This is one angry Mother Cluster (6.2%, 21.7 IBU). She is upset with her kids giving the yellow fizzy beer style a bad rap. This straw colored cream ale is a tribute to the history of American beers. With a sweet light body and a crisp finish makes this a beer to drink all day and night (in moderation for course).

Mother Earth Cali Creamin'

One of our most popular beers ever, this light cream ale sits on Madagascar vanilla beans in secondary to give a mellow vanilla flavor. You’ll swear you were drinking a cream soda…with a kick. We use flaked corn and a bit of honey malt to give it a subtle sweetness; that combined with Cascade hops make it a treat to drink. I know it sounds kind of like a chick beer, but guys…just consider it your guilty pleasure.

Mother Earth Sin-Tax Imperial Stout

You know that feeling when something is so good, it has to be bad? Much like the sumptuary tax placed on the beverages we love so much, at times we feel we must limit ourselves in the wants and needs of our strongest desires. Desires like that of the full bodied and robust flavor of an imperial stout both dark and rich, paired with the creamy essence of peanut butter, twisting and tangling over your taste-buds until you truly comprehend that it just may be too heavenly NOT to be a sin.

Mother Handsome

Our expression of a classic Double IPA, Mother Handsome is brewed with a funky blend of African & American hops. It is meticulously balanced, slightly bitter, with a hop aroma of currant, citrus, stone fruit, and fresh herbs. We named it in tribute to the 19th century tavern owner of local Ferndale legend. Not only did she quench the thirst of many a weary soul traveling the Saginaw Trail between Detroit and points north, the tavern floor doubled as a rooming house. So, while you can't crash at our place, we are happy to provide you with a tasty respite from a long day!

Mother in Lager

What can you say about the woman who brings a big serving of judgment to every occasion? Sometimes it’s best to say nothing at all. Mother-in-Lager recognizes those who have shown glimpses of sweetness through their otherwise bitter exterior and feels for those who have to put up with it. Brewed with dark malts and German hops, this brew's depth of flavor will allow you to relax and bite your tongue while she reorganizes your entire kitchen. So grab a 6’er of Mother-in-Lager and be prepared for the next time she comes to visit. It’s going to be a long, cold night.

There are many storms out there, all of them perfect in their own way. But there is only one Mother of all Storms and it only happens in Pacific City, Oregon. Based on Stormwatcher’s Winterfest, our English-style barleywine, Mother of all Storms spent many months aging in Kentucky bourbon barrels. Now at its peak, Mother of all Storms delivers deep flavors of toasted malt, bourbon and oak. The finish rewards with whispers of vanilla, toffee and caramel. Mother of Exiles

A German-style pilsner that gets its name from the Emma Lazarus poem, "The New Colossus," where she describes her personal interpretation of the Statue of Liberty as the "Mother of Exiles." This beer has a spicy, slightly grassy flavor that kicks in mid-palate and continues on to a crisp, bitter finish. Being a lager-style beer, we gave it an extended cold aging period, which adds to its clean drinkability.

Mother of the Gut

“Mother of the Gut” is an old nickname given to Chamomile because of its ability to soothe the digestive system. This Chamomile-infused Belgian Pale Ale is our collaboration with Bent Paddle Brewing Co. from Duluth and was brewed for 2016’s “In Cahoots”, an event celebrating The Red Stag’s 10th Anniversary. Brewers Ben Smith from Surly and Pete Mack from Bent Paddle brewed at both facilities to create an extremely drinkable beer with a pleasing aroma of citrus, lemon and chamomile with a subtle pepper and clove note from the yeast.

Motion to Strike Milk Stout

Milk Stout – Aroma and flavor has hints of chocolate and espresso with a smooth, creamy finish. A motion to strike is a request to remove irrelevant, immaterial, or even objectionable information from the court’s record. It can be made at any point during a trial but is most often associated with testimony that might be scandalous or otherwise impugn the reputation of the defendant. This Milk Stout has hints of chocolate, espresso and one of the smoothest finishes you’ll find. In fact, it’s so good, it probably is scandalous. It might be better if we just kept it between us. So go ahead, make a motion, and let’s keep this off the record.

Motley Cru

Anniversary Release Motley Cru barrel blend 2014 is an IPA aged in barrels with Brett for just over 14 months, transferred to a fermentor, dry-hopped with a healthy dose of Citra and Mosaic, before conditioning in the bottle with fresh champagne yeast for another 2 months. Given the long-term aging that the beer went through over most of 2013, it has emerged deeply oaky in both its aroma and flavour, exhibiting bold vanillins and tannins. It’s extended affair with Brett contributes soft smoke and cherry flavours, and a characteristic dryness. And yet, the dry-hopping applied another, strangely complimentary layer to the beer, imparting intense aromatics of fresh lychee and fuzzy peaches. The resulting Cru is beautifully juicy, with a bright orange colour, thick mousse-like head, and muted bitterness. It ranks very high on the yum scale, can out-perform lab mice in obstacle courses, and may encourage the use of profanities, sometimes even consecutively.

It will be hard for anyone to take their face away from this beer, as the aroma and flavor will have you titillated with Sour Watermelon deliciousness. Motueka - Hop Essence Series

Motueka (pronounced Moe-too-AYE-kuh) is a region on the northern tip of the South Island of New Zealand. This hop, a descendant of the Saaz variety, was created through breeding trials from New Zealand's Hort Research. The thought behind this brew was to create a malt base with the flavors of a German Maibock, providing an underlying sweetness for the mango and lime flavors of the Motueka hop. Thus, the beer style was dubbed a "hoppy Maibock-style ale." You should expect to see this hop in future Brewmaster Jack brews in conjunction with Australian Galaxy hops.
