The cornerstone of our Harvest series is the beer that started the modern-day fresh hop ale phenomenon in America, our original Harvest Ale. Created in 1996, Harvest Ale features Cascade and Centennial hops from the Yakima Valley in Eastern Washington. These hops are harvested and shipped as “wet” un-dried hops—the same day they are picked—to our brewery in Chico where our brewers eagerly wait to get them into the brew kettle while their oils and resins are still at their peak

Jopen Northsea IPA (aka Mooie Nel) is an IPA containing plenty of American hops, which creates bitterness with lots of fruity tones. Back when long journeys by sea were the norm, IPA was brewed to be extra-strong, and extra hops was added so that it could be drunk in the colonies. In the 17th century The Netherlands produced its own version of IPA, or ‘duraebel scheepsbier (long-life ship’s beer)’, for the Dutch East Indies. IPA has returned to Europe thanks to the American Craft Revolution. It is the fastest growing style of beer in the USA. Jopen Northsea IPA is our Dutch take on the modern IPA; Every swig of this beer is a pleasure.

This beer greets you with floral and citrus aromas, the result of aggressive Cascade dry-hopping. The addition of Chinook hops leave you with a lingering pineyness reminiscent of a hike in the mountains. A light malt sweetness provides balance while maintaining the hop forward character.

This robust vanilla porter is dark brown with ruby highlights. The aroma is heavy on notes derived from aging with Madagascar vanilla beans. The use of roasted barley, chocolate and black malts give this brew slight notes of chocolate, coffee and roast. This medium to full bodied beer features a warm alcohol finish with a medium to low presence of hop bitterness. Primary bittering derived from the dark, roasted malts. Limited, Vermont-only release is available in 22oz. bottles and on draught.

An Ale created by our Brewmaster in 1990 as a Halloween ale for Great Lakes Brewing in Cleveland, OH. This immortally hopped Double Red has risen again.
