Northeast IPA

A hefty Munich malt backbone is the framework that holds up the fruity Belgian yeast notes and citrus/pine hop profile. A subtle spice hits the nose followed by sweet melon. The mouthfeel evolves from a bangarang bittering of Summit hops, immediately followed by a smooth, soft carmel maltiness, and finishes dry and lingering. It entices you to go back for more, and more and more. Enjoy and dissect responsibly.

Northern Hemisphere Harvest

The cornerstone of our Harvest series is the beer that started the modern-day fresh hop ale phenomenon in America, our original Harvest Ale. Created in 1996, Harvest Ale features Cascade and Centennial hops from the Yakima Valley in Eastern Washington. These hops are harvested and shipped as “wet” un-dried hops—the same day they are picked—to our brewery in Chico where our brewers eagerly wait to get them into the brew kettle while their oils and resins are still at their peak

Northman

Northman is a French farmhouse-style ale aged in Calvados barrels for four months. Taking after the bière de garde style of northern France, this beer has aromas of toffee, toasted grains, and candied apples. Flavors of apple brandy, vanilla, and graham cracker form a balanced palate. Brewed with 2-row malt, red wheat, and specialty malts including caramel and midnight malts. It ferments with our saison yeast before being transferred to the Calvados barrels in which it ages.

Northsea IPA

Jopen Northsea IPA (aka Mooie Nel) is an IPA containing plenty of American hops, which creates bitterness with lots of fruity tones. Back when long journeys by sea were the norm, IPA was brewed to be extra-strong, and extra hops was added so that it could be drunk in the colonies. In the 17th century The Netherlands produced its own version of IPA, or ‘duraebel scheepsbier (long-life ship’s beer)’, for the Dutch East Indies. IPA has returned to Europe thanks to the American Craft Revolution. It is the fastest growing style of beer in the USA. Jopen Northsea IPA is our Dutch take on the modern IPA; Every swig of this beer is a pleasure.

Northwest Wheat

One of the oldest styles of beer in the world, the history of hefeweizen goes back as far as the 14th or 15th century. And we say, when something's working, just get out of the way. That's why Henry Weinhard's Northwest Wheat is made the traditional way, like Germans have been doing for centuries. Made with American hops and a touch of honey, this beer has a really incredible depth of flavor.

Once every farm in Norway was required by law to brew its own ale. All of that ale had a natural smoky taste and most of it was spiced with juniper.
