This Belgian pale ale utilizes traditional Belgian malts and European hops. Belgian yeast brings flavors of apple, banana, vanilla and grapes naturally through its fermentation and accented with seeds of paradise. This blend is an intriguing palate pleaser.

Shipyard Monkey Fist IPA is edgy, aggressive and unique in style. This beer is brilliant copper in color and exploding with Warrior, Glacier and Cascade Hop character but able to maintain a beautiful balance.

Our American Style Pale Ale. Made with Crystal Malts and just enough Mt. Hood hops in the finish. A great session beer.

Swinging from tank to tank around here, we've come up with the perfect way to enjoy a bright sparkling taste of summer, no matter what the season may be. Now a year round offering, this fresh local hefeweizen carries a distinct banana ester profile, and crisp finish. No bananas were harmed or peeled in the brewing of this beer. It's just a little side benefit that our German yeast strain gives us.

Champion Beer of Britain - GOLD MEDAL WINNER YEAR 2000 - Strong Beer Category A full bodied powerful brew, dark brown with a very distinct malty flavour using finest crushed pale, crystal and roasted malts, which combine perfectly with Kent Challenger and Goldings hops. Very strong and extremely moreish. Named after Mr. Monkman who grows the malt, and Mr. Slaughter our brewer and chemist. Unwittingly we have given the two chaps an ideal alibi: they now feel duty bound to sit at the end of the bar and check that the end product is worthy of their names!

Monks’ Dark Ale is a well-balanced medium bodied ale with a smooth creamy mouthfeel, good carbonation, and no alcohol warmth or astringency. The aromas are predominantly hazelnut and chocolate with hints of raisins and stone fruits, with no diacetyl evident. This ale pours with nice lacing and a lasting tan head. Flavors include toasted hazelnuts, raisins, caramel malt, and mild green apples. No phenols are evident. The subdued, yet present hops create a light, crisp, refreshing, taste. The finish is dry with mild caramel and green apples and a slight roastiness, inviting another sip of this all-season dark signature ale.

Monks’ Tripel Ale is distinctly fruity and spicy with a light body, pleasant alcoholic warmth, and a crisp, dry finish. The yeast lends notes of peach, apricot, and plum, which support a complex chorus of traditional flavors. European hops bring balance to the long layers of yeast character by providing a spicy and herbaceous harmony of flavor. A subtle and soft malt character provides the perfect foundation to showcase this beer’s unique and intricate complexity. Belgian yeast and American grains provide the distinct character and flavors of this blonde ale.

While Montana Helles Lager is Bayern Brewing's latest addition to the great lineup of authentic German-style lagers, it is not exactly a new beer style. In Bavaria, you usually order a light beer (the word helles means "light" or "bright" in German) or Dunkel ("dark"); unless you want a wheat (weizen) beer, usually offered regular or dark. Montana Helles Lager is Bayern's version of a Bavarian staple lager beer. Light in color, this lager is decoction-brewed, giving it a full body and cold-fermented for the ultimate in smoothness. Using Hallertauer Magnum as the primary hops and Tettnang for aroma (both imported from Germany), it is well-balanced with a total of 25 IBUs. With a 5.6% ABV, Montana Helles Lager lives up to the quality and deliciousness you expect from Bayern Brewing and is available year-round in Western Montana.

This brilliant and bold addition to our flock was created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of one of our finest comedic exports - the Monty Python crew! Years later and Holy Grail is still going strong. With more hops than a killer rabbit, it's a full-flavoured golden ale with a distinctively fruity flavour followed by the Black Sheep signature dry finish. Be warned, this beer has been tempered over burning witches! Only joking.

The carefully selected malt bill provides hints of caramel, which are perfectly balanced with the best English hops, giving notes of berry fruits.

The Stout begins with a rich, roasted coffee bouquet and progresses through an array of milk and dark chocolates flavors, finishing with a medium malt body.

This stout beer pays tribute to the Butternuts Brewery's former life as a dairy farm. It's a more drinkable version of the Stout breed than its heavy, boorish and smelly European sisters. We use lactose sugar for body and mouthfeel; not too strong, not too viscous at 4.9% abv. Unlike a true bovine it has a malty, roasty aroma and a dry finish but no tail or teats, and leaves no unsightly cow pies laying around the yard for you to step in.

We won’t think you’re unstable for loving this unpredictable yet delicious brew -- this gateway milk stout has personality-plus…or is that personalities-plus? Roasted barley gives Moody Cow its dark, complex flavor, enhanced by a nitrogen-induced creamy finish and balanced with a touch of sweetness. Moody Cow is good for all your moooods.

MooJoos blends the silky smooth characteristics of an Oatmeal Stout with the sweet, round body of a Milk Stout. Lactose sugar in the boil contributes a full and creamy mouthfeel while toasted and flaked oats in the mash round out the beer with an oily texture. A deep malt bill builds layers of roasty notes with hints of chocolate, coffee and anise. A traditional British Cask Yeast is then pitched, which leaves us with a fruity, malty ale.

Moonbow Wit, our summer seasonal, is a Belgian wheat ale. Brewed with Pilsen malt, unmalted wheat and Czech Saaz Hops. Coriander and bitter orange peel provide light citrus notes in this summer refresher. This white ale is reminiscent of the full moon needed to see the rare Moonbow at Cumberland Falls.

Dry Irish Stout, it has light body, low calories compared to other brews, low carbs and low alcohol, around 4.5%. This is not a heavy beer. It is brewed with 5 pounds of oysters per barrel, shell and all. There is no distinguishable oyster flavor in the beer, but they add Sea Salt, Calcium and other Minterals that become part of the overall flavor.

The malt balances in flavor with caramel and toasted sugar, but the nose and finish show great hop expression (Citra & Galaxy in the dry hop).

A robust Porter, deep mahogany in color, brewed with all imported malts, Northern Brewer and Willamette Hops.
