Elsie the Milk Stout

Elsie is made by combining unfermentable lactose with a malt bill so complex the brewers refer to it as their 'kitchen sink beer'. The result is a beer that's sweet and smooth and dark and roasty, with gentle touches of chocolate, coffee and cream. Served on nitrogen at the bar, but conditioned for the bottle, allowing yeast to naturally carbonate the stout for an incredibly thick and smooth texture. She's so tasty, you'll believe cows really can jump over the moon.

Game of Thrones: Winter Is Here

Winter Is Here is a Belgian-style double white ale. Fittingly for a double white (walker) ale, the label is graced by the ominous visage of the Night King, who is expected to arrive as forcefully in Season 7 as this beer's 8.3% ABV will arrive in your stomach. Winter is Here is brewed with pilsner malt, white wheat malt, and soft red wheat flakes, hopped with Saaz hops, and spiced with white pepper, sea salt, coriander and sweet orange peel. Brewery Ommegang’s house yeast is used in primary and secondary fermentation. This double white ale pours a hazy pale straw color with a stark white head. Aromas of banana, clove, and pronounced peppery phenols lead, and the flavor is slightly sweet malt, subtly balanced by hints of sea salt. Despite a full mouthfeel and healthy ABV, it still manages to drink quite lightly. The finish gradually builds in a warming crescendo of peppery spice.

Newtowner

Young Henrys wouldn’t be what it is without Newtown. It’s our home, community and inspiration. So when the suburb celebrated its sesquicentenary and we were invited to brew a unique beer to celebrate, we jumped at the chance. The resulting beer was an Aussie Pale Ale called Newtowner. In a bit of a nod to the suburb’s past and present influences, we used a blend of English and Australian malts. Then we added three varieties of local hops to make it fun, fruity and even a little bitter - just like Newtown. This is a beer we wanted everyone in our community to enjoy, whether it was being thrown back at a gig or sipped slowly in a beer garden. The people responded and Newtowner is now a permanent part of our beer range.

Patrons Project 2.03 // NOMAD CLAN x TANK PETROL // City of Industry // IPA Amarillo Simcoe Citra Mosaic

For our latest limited release IPA we've continued to look at new ways to accentuate the soft fruit character of our favourite hop varieties. The grist includes flaked oats and wheat for mouthfeel and balance the water profile. We sought to reduce the bitterness pick up from out whirlpool hops by dropping the temperature at addition further which minimises isomerisation. We then selected our favourite headline US varieties Amarillo, Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe. Expect classic citrus fruit with underlying apricot, peach and subtle pine notes.

It was always going to happen... Double Mango Lassi. More than double, in fact, as we upped the mango dosage by 120%. A super pale grist, heavy with oats and enhanced with slightly ludicrous amounts of lactose. We dropped the whirlpool to 80c before loading in the first addition of Citra and Mosaic. 18g/l of the same with added Amarillo following in dry hop before conditioning the brew with even more mango for a further week; letting the fruit settle in to complete the perfect alcoholic fruit smoothie in a beer can.

Whiskey Barrel Aged Lugene

Farmers are patient and understand it takes time for some things to mature. We followed their lead with our Whiskey Barrel Aged Lugene, named after our favorite farmer who has been hauling our spent grain to his dairy cows for years. We took a batch of our Lugene Chocolate Milk Stout, moved it into some Woody Creek Rye Whiskey barrels for six months. The result is a beer that is dynamic and complex, with aromas of roasted malt, dark chocolate and toffee, and a smooth but full-bodied mouthfeel with subtle flavors of rye spice and vanilla.

Chuckaboo

The first Bodriggy beer to start appearing on taps – or, more accurately, peering from above them via the brewing company's distinctive decals – was the pink jacketed Chuckaboo. And it isn't the sort of beer too many breweries will have chosen as a lead product before them: a white IPA. For those unfamiliar with such a style, it's one in which the spicy, citrusy characteristics of a witbier yeast are combined with the sort of heavy hopping regime found in an IPA. They can often be quite a mouthful, pushing out against the palate in multiple directions. But here, despite not holding back on the tropical and citrusy hops – Centennial (US), Melba (Aus) and Motueka (NZ) if you're taking notes, Bodriggy delivers a beer that has the expected fruit and spice action going on yet keeps things wrapped up in a tight package. In fact, it's the sort of beer a left of centre brewing operation might consider for a lead product...

Blonde De L’Enfer

Blonde De L’Enfer (Blonde from Hell) is brewed to celebrate Unibroue’s 25th anniversary. Staying true to our tradition of Belgian style inspiration with a touch of Québécois culture, we crafted a nonconformist take on a classic style, the Belgian Golden Ale. These ales are traditionally named after hellish demons due to their lust for power and in reference to the beer’s deceitful drinkability. Our golden 25th anniversary ale is such a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Brewed with a unique Belgian yeast strain, this sinfully smooth refermented specialty ale is artfully crafted for a delicate balance of spice, malt, and hop flavors with a fine Champagne-like effervescence. A truly infernal brew, to be enjoyed… responsibly.
