Hoptoberfest

Our hoppy take on a classic seasonal German style lager. Brewed with pale ale, caramel, and toasted Munich malts that attribute a sweet earthy malty flavor, toasted aroma, and a bright orange hue. German Tettnanger hops add an herbal peppery flavor and nose. One of my favorite parts about brewing this beer is that we’re participating in a seasonal brewing tradition that spans the globe. Since nearly all craft breweries take part in the Oktoberfest season, I like to try the different renditions side by side. We use a traditional lager fermentation along side the traditional toasted Munich style malts. There are a lot of bready characters that come up during the brew. We wanted to brew a hoppier version of the brew, so we added Perle, Tettnang and Columbus hops. The simple recipe hasn’t changed since we started brewing it in 2006.

HOPTOWN Brown IPA

This full-flavored medium-full Brown IPA weighs in at 7.3% with an enticing citrusy hop aroma and a full hop flavor. We balance all that hoppy goodness with a rich and complex malty palate of caramel, toasted nuts, and chocolate. The perfect blend of dark earthy, toasty fall flavors and citrusy lip-smacking hops! As days grow short, a chill sneaks into the evening air, and leaves burst into fiery reds and golds, we seem to instinctively put away the light quenching brews of summer in favor of bolder and more substantial offerings. Our autumnal imperial release is a seasonal celebration that has hop-heads and maltsters alike clamoring for more..
